The Kursk NPP reached a new historical high level of power generation

The power generation of the Kursk NPP has reached 29 billion 046,6 million KWh on December 30, 2014 at 06:55 MSK since the beginning of the year.

Such amount of electricity generation is equal to the maximum annual output, which has been ever received during the period of the Kursk NPP power units operation.

The updated historical maximum of the annual generation became able due to stable operation of power, that had been provided by a good-quality repair campaign in 2014 in the shortest possible time, in compliance with all safety standards and rules. The Kursk NPP successfully executed technical program on improvement of energy efficiency.

Any measure of electricity, produced before January 1, 2015, will be the best in the history of the company. Team sees as its task to maximize it while ensuring safe and reliable operation of power.

The Kursk NPP has power units ?? 1, 2, 3, 4 in work at the moment. They work with capacity, established by the dispatch schedule.

The radiation background is at level, that corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed natural background values, at the Kursk NPP and in the area of its location.

Updated information about the radiation environment near Russian NPPs and other nuclear facilities is provided on site www.russianatom.ru.

State of power production at the Kursk NPP units and other nuclear power plants of the «Rosenergoatom Concern" is displayed on the site www.rosenergoatom.ru.

The Kursk NPP, as part of the «Rosenergoatom Concern», is included into the electricity division of the State Corporation "Rosatom". The station is located 40 km south-west of the city Kursk on the left bank of Seym. The NPP has four operating units with RBMK RBMK-1000 reactors with total capacity of 4 million KW of electricity. Power units were connected to the unified energy system of the country in 1976, 1979, 1983 and 1985. All existing power units had technical modernization in 1994-2009. The Kursk NPP is the largest power generating source in the Central Russian Chernozem.
