One of the winners of the industry competition «The Best practices of personnel management" «Simple success stories» in 2014 was the project implemented by the management of the Balakovo NPP HR department "Championship on nuclear debate among students».

Among the winning projects it was included in a booklet on best practices of the "Career-guidance activities in order to raise the intellectual level of young people as human resource capacity of the nuclear industry».

The main objective of the project is to encourage students to study science, to make them select technical disciplines in universities, as well as to demonstrate the prestige of working in the nuclear industry, the organization of "live" communication between enterprise experts and students. It is intended to not only give birth to today's students interest in the nuclear industry, but it is an essential complement to a complex of measures to address the urgent problem of the science, education and production integration.

Championship on nuclear debates, which is held annually on the basis of the Information center of the Balakovo NPP, is very popular among high school students of Balakovo schools. This year, the debate between the teams, each of which in turn upheld the position of the "pros" and "cons", was held on the theme «Without nuclear energy humanity has no future». In the turbulent intellectual debates children learned very important skills: public speaking skills and the ability to defend their point of view in the debate, listen to the interlocutor. They used facts and quotes, argued, expressed their opinion - everyone had to speak to defend the position, which the team had received.

Procedure of the debates starts with monthly training. Specialists of the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Development Department staff of the NPP solve organizational issues, and the participants themselves are arming with knowledge - they are immersed in-depth study of individual clusters of physics, ecology and other natural sciences.

"We read a lot of literature, learn interesting facts from the jury, - says one of the debate participants - a student of secondary school ?28 Elizabeth Kompaniets. - This new knowledge about nuclear power is much more clarified for me personally. Nuclear scientist is not only and exciting and prestigious profession. Without electric energy mankind has no future, and there is no fulfilling alternative to nuclear energy today».

The annual Industry Competition «Best Practices of Personnel Management» "Simple success stories" (hereinafter - Competition) has been held since 2012. For 2 years the Competition has collected about 100 practices, selected and printed in the catalog "Simple success stories. A Practical Guide» Issue 1, 2012, issue 2, 2013 29 best practices implemented on various enterprises of the State Corporation «Rosatom».

The purpose of the contest is to choose, to describe and to disseminate the best practices of personnel management, which are successfully used in the industry and can be implemented on other enterprises.
