Novovoronezh NPP: Voronezh Regional Trade Union has awarded young nuclear scientists

The ТYoung Generation for Trade UnionУ youth trade union rally has been held in Voronezh under the aegis of the trade union educational and methodic centre.

For the first time in the rally history there has been held a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union Territorial Association of Voronezh region (TUTA) together with regional youth trade union activists.

Representatives of Young Nuclear Scientists Organization of Novovoronezh NPP Р Deputy Head of Administration Department Pavel Matveev and engineer Mikhail Ivanov actively participated in the rally.

Trade union rally participants considered and discussed trends of youth movement development in the country and region, issues of TUTA youth policy improvement, youth mass campaigns, usage of PR-technologies for public relations and other problems. 

The second part of the youth trade union rally consisted of group business games and trainings on development of youth trade union campaign projects, review competition for the best project, ТFrosty GamesУ Р a ski competition, and other contests in the open air.

Young nuclear scientists of Novovoronezh NPP won the prize for the ТBest Promotion of Trade UnionsУ in the campaign aimed to attract workers to join a trade union. They also won top places in individual and team sport competitions.

Novovoronezh NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated on the bank of the Don River, 42 km to the south of Voronezh. This is the first Russian NPP with VVER-type reactors (pressurized water reactors of the vessel type using light pressurized water). Each of the five plant reactors is the main one Р a prototype of serial power-producing reactors: power unit No. 1 with the VVER-210 reactor, power unit No. 2 with the VVER-365 reactor, power units Nos. 3, 4 with the VVER-440 reactors and power unit No. 5 with the VVER-1000 reactor. The first power unit was commissioned in 1964, second Р in 1969, third Р in 1971, fourth Р in 1972 and the fifth one Р in 1979. At present three power units are in operation (power units Nos. 1, 2 were shut down in 1984 and in 1990 respectively).
