Kursk NPP Director has been elected the Vice-President of Nuclear Society of Russia

Nikolay Sorokin, Deputy General Director , Director of Kursk nuclear plant, a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern, was elected the Vice-President of the Nuclear Society of Russia (NSR), a pan-Russian public organization.

This decision was taken at the plenum of NSR Central Board that took place at Moscow Plant of Polymetals on February 28, 2011. The plenum participants unanimously voted for the candidacy of Nikolay Sorokin from the nuclear power department.

O. V. Kryukov, the President of the Nuclear Society of Russia, and S. V. Kushnarev, NSR Executive Vice-President, addressed Kursk NPP Director their congratulations on the vice-president election and best regards in this responsible position.

The Nuclear Society of Russia, Pan-Russian public organization, is a creative independent self-managing organization, on a voluntary basis uniting scientists, specialists of production, operation and management, tutors and students of Russia and other countries, working or studying in the field of nuclear power use, nuclear researches and the adjacent sciences, their popularization, and as well other interested public organizations. Now NSR unites over 2,000 individual members. Its purpose is to contribute to the international contacts and collaboration, cooperation of the specialists and general public for complex solution of the problem of nuclear equipment safe development, the problems of nuclear weapons non-proliferation, and as well to forming of an objective social opinion on nuclear power use.
