Deputies of the Representative assembly of Kurchatov District visited Kursk NPP

Deputies of the Representative assembly of Kurchatov District of the second convocation visited Kursk NPP on March 30, 2011. They visited the central and powerhouse halls, block control panel and radiation control board. NPP Senior Shift Engineer Vasily Zubov has acquainted the deputies with work of the enterprise and answered numerous questions of the representatives of legislative authority of Kurchatov District .


This is not the first such visit in the form of public tour to the Kursk NPP to show high level of safety and reliability systems of the modern power units to the representatives of the Public and Mass-Media. On March 24, the NPP was visited by the teachers of educational institutions of the city of Kurchatov and Kurchatov District.


The general opinion of participants of public tour was expressed by Chairman of the Representative meeting of Kurchatov District of the second convocation Nikolay Vorobin: ТWe have visited Kursk NPP for the first time and have seen live process of electric power generation. Hence, each of us had a possibility to see objective and unbiased safe and reliable work of the enterprise. It is especially important for us, representatives of legislative authority. 


We constantly communicate with inhabitants of the villages and settlements - our voters, we report about our work and executed settlements to them,. The safety of NPP which is located in the territory of Kurchatov District worries the people. Now we can say with good reason to the peasants what there is nothing to worry about:  the Kursk NPP in reliable hands of high level professionals which can guarantee to all of us a reliable work of the enterprise, radiation safety of the population and environmentУ.

At present power units Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Kursk NPP are in operation. Their capacity corresponds to the dispatch schedule.

The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
