Core fueling into the VVER-1200 has been started as a part of the physical innovative power generation unit No.6 (No. 1 LM NPP-2) start-up program at the Novovoronezh NPP. The power plant staff has embarked on the works as set forth in the nuclear power plant operation license issued by the Rostechnadzor.

The Novovoronezh NPP has received a Rostechnadzor license for new-generation power block No.6 operation with VVER-1200 reactor
On March 22, 2016, the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostechnadzor) has issued a license for power block No.6 nuclear installation to the Novovoronezh NPP.

Kolsk NPP: nuclear power specialists from Armenia have studies the best practices on maintenance at the transpolar nuclear power plant
The teams of the Kolsk NPP and the Armenian NPP* have exchanged their best practices on safety culture enhancements during the maintenance. The negotiations took place as a part of the visit organized under the auspices of the World Association of Nuclear Operations on March 13-19, 2016. The only nuclear power plant in Armenia utilizes VVER-440 reactor units, just as the Kolsk NPP does.

The Kolsk NPP diagnostic equipment is to be upgraded under the auspices of the Swedish Government
As a part of the technical cooperation program supported by the Government of Sweden the Kolsk NPP metal nondestructive testing facilities are planned to be upgraded in the coming years. This plan was a matter of discussion during the meeting between the Kolsk nuclear power plant specialists and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM) on March 16-17, 2016.

The Rostov NPP: the pre-commissioning activities have started at the power block No.4
The operation mode has been set at the four buildings of the power block No.4 under construction assigned to the thermal instrumentation & control shop. The facilities have been included in the service area for the plant’s operating staff. Access for the installation and the commissioning staff is granted based on the job orders.
