Rosenergoatom: Russian NPPs increased output by 7% in the first half of 2021

Electricity output at Russian NPPs (branches of Rosenergoatom, part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) amounted to 110.4 billion kWh for the first half of 2021, which corresponds to 100.02% of the FAS balance sheet. In 2020, the same figure was 103.2 billion kWh. Thus, nuclear power plants increased their total power output by 6.9%.

The installed capacity utilization factor (ICUF) for the first half of the year was about 83%.

In June 2021, nuclear power plants generated 17.646 billion kWh, which is 1.2 billion kWh more than last year (16.426 billion kWh).

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia approved the plan for generating electricity for Russian nuclear power plants for 2021 in the amount of 217.7 billion kWh.

The share of nuclear generation is more than 20% of the total electricity generation in the country. So every fifth light bulb in the Russian Federation burns due to the energy generated by nuclear power plants.
