The Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company (a part of the Electric power division of the Rosatom State Corporation) continues to grow its electric power production output and its revenue.

In 2019, the total revenue the generating company received from electric power and Russian NPPs’ (the Company’s affiliates) capacity usage reached 453.3 billion rubles (5% higher than planned). That said, the last year’s revenue grew by 17.5% compared to the one in 2018.

It is important to note that, following the outcomes of 2019, the total output of all Russian NPPs was 208.8 billion kWh, which exceeds the planned output by 3% and represents a 2.2% growth compared to the previous year.

‘The growth of the electric power production at the nuclear power plants and the revenue increase compared to what was planned in 2019 were stipulated by the early power start-up and commissioning of the Novovoronezh NPP-2 2nd power block, among other things. Also, 2019 marked a huge milestone in the history of the Company and the nuclear power industry in general – the power start-up of the floating nuclear power plant with the designed capacity of 70 megawatt. The same year, the Company launched the largest primary data processing and storage center in Russia – DC ‘Kalininskiy’ next to the Kalinin NPP in the Tver region’, Sergey Migalin, the deputy CEO and the Finance and Economy Director of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company, said.

In 2020, the power start-up and the low power testing of the innovative Leningrad NPP-2 2nd power block are planned along with the commissioning of the floating NPP.

Nowadays, Rosenergoatom is the largest generating company in Russia and the 2nd one in the world in terms of the amount of nuclear generation capacities. The company is constantly growing and becoming a part of the global digital transformation process.

The Russian NPPs account for 19.4% of the total electricity production in the country. It means that each fifth light bulb in the Russian Federation is powered by a nuclear power plant.
