By the Power Engineers' Day, the Russian NPPs have completed the annual electric power production plan of 202.703 billion kWh designed by the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service ahead of schedule

Just before the professional holiday – the Power Engineers’ Day – overnight between December 21 and December 22, 2019, the Russian NPPs have completed the annual governmental assignment for 2019 and the balance assignment from the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia ahead of time. The plan was to produce 202.703 billion kWh of electric power, which is 102.38% of the output in 2018.

As of now, all Russian nuclear power plants produce energy in excess of a plan.

Currently, the nuclear power generation accounts for around 19% of the total electric power output in the country. It means that every fifth light bulb is powered from nuclear power plants. In the meantime, the nuclear power generation’s share in the European part of the country is 40%.

Such strong performance of the Rosenergoatom’s nuclear power plants is attributed to effective and stable work on the NPP power block’s load curve fulfilment, optimized time lines for the maintenance campaigns completion and higher efficiency of power blocks’ operation.

The Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company is a leading unit of the Electric Power Division of the Rosatom State Corporation. The JSC is the largest generation company in Russia in terms of the electric power output and the world’s 2nd one in terms of the atomic generation capacity. It encompasses all 10 nuclear power plants of Russia that have an affiliate status as well as companies facilitating the operation of the generation unit. All in all, the Russian NPPs operate 356 power blocks with the total installed capacity of 30.25 GW.
