Rosenergoatom has concluded its first international contract to improve the country's regulatory frameworks for nuclear industry

Rosenergoatom JSC has started to sell a new business product on foreign markets. It is the services on building a database of regulatory and methodological technical documentation (hereinafter referred to as RTD), necessary for commissioning, operation, service life extending, and decommissioning of nuclear power plants.

These services are designed to ensure foreign Clients constructing Russian-designed nuclear power plants that:

  • the NPP with VVER type reactor is operated safely at any stage of an NPP life cycle;
  • due to removal of the need to develop a regulatory framework the cost and duration of NPP construction are reduced;
  • the process of issuing appropriate licenses and permits by the national regulatory body is optimized.

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Rosenergoatom JSC supported by Rusatom Service JSC, signed a pilot contract with Armenian Nuclear Power Plant to assist in the improvement of the regulatory base in the field of nuclear energy in the Republic of Armenia.

In addition, Rosenergoatom Concern JSC participated and won a tender to provide similar services to Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant Unitary Republican Enterprise.

Similar contracts are expected with a number of priority partners of Rosatom State Corporation in 2018-2020. This includes Iran, Turkey, and Egypt.

At the same time, Rosenergoatom JSC is working to assess the market value of all available RTDs and reports on the Concern’s R&D projects implementation.

Subsequently, on the basis of Rosenergoatom’s automated system for technical documents managing and the results of the documents assessment, a full-fledged IT product providing interested organizations (including foreign clients) with a commercial access to the operator level documentation will be created.

It is assumed that a full range of works to assess the documentation market value will be carried out by the end of the year.

The contracts were conducted with the involvement of Rusatom Service JSC. The documents market evaluation is conducted with the involvement of an independent assessor –Neksia Pacholi LLC. The IT product creation is conducted by the business development unit in conjunction with the Department for Production Planning, Modernization, and Operating Life Extension, the Department of IT Project Management and Integration, the Accounting Department, and the Department of Innovative Development.
