Alexander Mikhailovich Katsman


On May 17, 2021, Alexander Mikhailovich Katsman was appointed to the position of Deputy General Director – Director for Commissioning New NPPs of Rosenergoatom JSC.

In 1981 Alexander Mikhailovich Katsman graduated from Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics with a degree in Electronic Engineering.

In 2007 he graduated from the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation with a degree in Modern Organization Management.

He has been working in the nuclear industry since 1984. He started his career as an engineer in the Thermal instrumentation and control shop of the Directorate of the Balakovo NPP that was under construction.

In 2008, prior to his transfer to a new position, he worked as Deputy Technical Director for new NPP units of Rosenergoatom, since 2013 – Deputy Director for NPP Production and Operation, Director of the Department for Operational Readiness of New NPPs of Rosenergoatom JSC.

The main duties:

1. Formation and implementation of a single technical policy of the operating organization in the sphere of safe NPP operation during commissioning of NPP units under construction in the Russian Federation and abroad.

2. Performing the functions of an operating organization in accordance with the requirements of federal rules and regulations in the field of atomic energy use and ensuring operational readiness in preparation for commissioning and in the process of implementing projects for commissioning NPP units under construction.

3. Providing engineering and technical support for pre-commissioning and commissioning of NPPs under construction in the Russian Federation and abroad in terms of thermal mechanical, electrical equipment and CPCS equipment.

4. Providing technical guidance during the commissioning of NPP units in the Russian Federation and abroad and monitoring the readiness of systems and equipment for the commissioning stages at the sites under construction of the NPP, in accordance with the Rosenergoatom standards, the contract requirements of the foreign customer and the national regulator of the country, where the NPP is being built according to the Russian project.

5. Ensuring the development, implementation and modernization of computerized process control systems of NPPs.
