On 30 November, 2018 during the international media project “Atoms of knowledge: from Novovoronezh to Akkuyu NPP” the media representatives of the region of the construction site of the first NPP in Turkey – Akkuyu NPP – visited Novovoronezh NPP.

This media project was directed at the strengthening of Russian-Turkish partnership in the area of the nuclear power, and raising the attraction of the regions of NPPs’ location and strengthening of their relations.

During their visit to the location area of the world’s first generation 3+ power unit Turkish journalists were at the site of the sixth power unit of NV NPP, saw the sights of Novovoronezh and Voronezh, visited a family of NPP’s worker, and had a possibility to assess a range and quality of the agricultural products of local farmers at the Central market of Voronezh.

“As journalists who represent Turkish Province Mersin it was very important for us to visit Novovoronezh NPP as it’s a referent Plant for Akkuyu NPP”, a correspondent of the state information agency Anadolu Sezgin Pancar disclosed the purpose of their visit. “We have a very good impression. We saw the scale of this project: a large number of personnel that works at this Plant; the Plant is one of the main sources of employment for local citizens. And so we expect that the implementation of Akkuyu NPP project will have the same positive effect for development of the Mersin Province.”
