Rusatom Service JSC at the opening of inclusive yachting centre in Armenia

On July 28, with the support of Armenian National Disabled Sports Federation (ANDSF), White Cane NGO (Russia) and Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Yerevan a ceremony of Inclusive Yachting Centre for disabled persons opening took place at the lake Sevan in Artanish village of Gegarkunikskaya region of Armenia; the project was funded by the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom”.

Thanks to the power of passionate people, those with reduced capabilities now have an opportunity to fully enjoy their time at Sevan lakeside – perhaps one will get excited about yachting, another will try himself as a free diver, third will opt for kayaking. There are myriad healthy ways to have fun!

The Sevan beach was duly equipped with any necessary facilities so that the holidayers could freely move around the beach – among those facilities are special access ramps, paths, bath chairs etc.

It’s a comfort to know that by having opened such a Centre, our community has become one step closer to achieving key goals – that are, to prevent disabled people’ isolation from other members of social community, to fill their lives with many positive emotions, and to see the light in their happy eyes!

Rusatom Service JSC’s attitude toward such social good projects was always special and it continue to be so – as they are the driving force of the company’s social responsibility.
Mr. V. Bredov, a representative of Rusatom Service JSC and the head of Armenian NPP life extension project from the Russian side supported an initiative to take part in the Centre’s opening on behalf of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” by delivering a welcome speech at the opening ceremony.

“The human being is Rosatom’s major value and key asset. We give special importance to those projects, which can generate the most valuable energy – energy of life…One of those projects is international sailing regatta “Sail of spirit” designed for both disabled and healthy people. I’m very excited that this project has extended its boundaries here [in Armenian Camp] – now the camp has turned into a unique centre, uniting people, creating new values, giving rise to new projects. And it’s a great honour for me to have an opportunity to support Armenian National Disabled Sports Federation and all those who used their best endeavors to encourage a creation of Inclusive Yachting Centre”, - said Mr. V. Bredov.

Rusatom Service team hopes that giving life to such projects will take place from now on – so that disabled people could live their lives happily with many memorable events around.
