The Kaliniskaya NPP power unit ?3 will be shut down for scheduled maintenance

On October 25, 2014 the Kaliniskaya NPP power unit ?3 will be shut down for a planned overhaul, which will last until 18 December this year.

During the repair campaign it is planned to overhaul the reactor plant and turbine generator; to do current repair of the unit transformer; to repair the turbine with the opening of the high pressure cylinder, low pressure cylinders 3,4, to repair bearings 1-14, to repair elements of the regulatory autopsy. There will also be upgraded seals of the main connector of the main circulation pump ?2, the outer housing of low pressure cylinder, capacitors of the turbo-nutrient pump control system and protection of the turbine generator and blanket drive control and protection system.

There are four power units in work at the Kalininskaya NPP at the moment.

The radiation background on the nuclear power plant and around its arrangement is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
