On March 14, Russian specialists in the field of nuclear power were sent to Japan.

In order to render Japanese atomists consulting assistance and to be able to receive timely information concerning the events developing at the NPP, Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC First Deputy General Director Vladimir Asmolov, and Valery Strizhov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Problems of Nuclear Power Safe Development of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IBRAE RAS) flew off to Tokyo.
