Rostov NPP: the last games of “What? Where? When?” winter series have been held in the Information Centre

On February 26, 2011 the last games of “What? Where? When?” winter series timed to coincide with celebration of the Defender of the Motherland Day were held in the Information Centre of Rostov NPP at the regular meeting of the Evrika intellectual club.

Teams of pupils from Volgodonsk lyceum No. 24 and school No. 21 took part in the games. The expert council included Deputy Chairman of the city Public Chamber, Co-chairman of the city public organization “Club of Russian Navy Submariners” Vladimir Reshetov and specialist of Rostov NPP Public Information Centre Elena Shedko. 

The questions of the last games of the winter series were on military topics and were particularly complicated: they were related to military science, policy, history and geography. In the course of the games the children also received valuable knowledge shared by one of the experts, submarine captain Vladimir Reshetov.

The first round, in which the team of school No. 21 strived for victory, was finished by a score of 6:5 in favor of the virtual competitors. In the second game the young players – pupils of lyceum No. 24 – won the victory by a score of 6:0. 

By decision of the expert council Olga Kuznetsova and Maria Temirova (school No. 21) were determined the best players of their team. In the team of lyceum No. 24 the following players distinguished themselves: Captain Andrey Bykhanov, recognized as “the best player of the team”, and Maxim Perepilitsyn who was awarded the title of “the most active spectator”.

In memory of the game the teams got treasured gifts from the organizers. The next games of Evrika intellectual club will be on March 26. 

Evrika intellectual club was established in December of the last year on the basis of Rostov NPP Public Information Centre. The club founders were the nuclear power plant PIC and city Young Engineers’ Station. Among those who take part in the intellectual games there are pupils of city and country schools, supplementary education centers.
