Rostov NPP was visited by the experts of Khmelnitsky NPP

On March 14- 17, the Rostov NPP was visited by the experts of Khmelnitsky NPP. Deputy Chief Engineer for technologies and engineering Oleg Hatyomkin and Deputy Chief of the Training Centre Ivan Abramiv have paid the visit within the framework of the contract on direct cooperation between two NPPs effective since 2007.


The Sister-NPPs have much in common: building history, equipment design features and the work itself. So, at the present stage both enterprises are engaged in building new power units - the third and the fourth units. 


During the visit the Russian and Ukrainian experts exchanged their experience and specified the areas which development would promote the increase of reliability of work of two Sister-NPPs.


The parties discussed new approaches in the organization of building, equipment incoming inspection, modernization of the NPP’s equipment, preparation and training of personnel, including training of personnel for the new units.


Ukrainian nuclear warmongers have also visited a number of the NPP’s objects and had a meeting with the administration.

Both parties mentioned constructive results of the visit.


Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The nuclear power plant is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir 13.5 km from the Volgodonsk city. Two power units with VVER-1000-type reactors with installed capacity of 1,000 MW are operated there. Unit No.1 was put into commercial operation in 2001. The power unit No 2 was launched in December 10, 2010.
