Power unit ?2 of the Rostov NPP plugged in

On November 4, 2014 at 14:00 the Rostov NPP power unit ?2 was included into the network, power set is being conducted.

The necessary technological operations for the recruitment capacity preparation are being conducted at the power unit ?1.

The power units ?1,2 were disconnected from the network at 5:23 on November 4 by the action of electrical protection for reasons not related to the work of the main equipment, during the decommissioning of the HV-500 RoNPP-South.

There are no violations of the limits and conditions of the equipment safe operation.

On the international scale of seven evaluation of nuclear events INES this event is rated as "out of scale", it is not essential for safety.
The radiation background at the Rostov NPP and the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of the power unit and does not exceed the natural background values

The Rostovskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. At nuclear station two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt are operated. The power unit No. 1 is put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 Р in December, 2010.
