On February 8, 2011 Novovoronezh atomists took part in the events devoted to Russian Science Day celebration that was organized in Voronezh regional Informational Centre of nuclear power. The program included meetings of students and scientists, production workers, Mass Media representatives, presentation of RosatomХs film called ТThe Atomic EncyclopaediaУ.

According to Mikhail Dolgopolov, Associate Professor of Nuclear Physics of Voronezh State University, Novovoronezh plant has always been a subject of comprehensive scientific research. ТNovovoronezh NPP is not only the flagship of the region industry, but also a large scientific centre. Here the questions of reliability and secure providing of all the working processes of power units of VVER type are worked out, their technical and economic opportunities demonstrationУ, - he noted.

Within the 46 years of NV NPP operation its specialists have developed and implemented a great amount of innovational scientific and technical solutions, maintained over fifty doctoral and masterХs theses, published thousands of scientific works. At present the NPP has 10 employees with graduate degrees.

In course of the meeting Elena Bulatova, Novovoronezh Polytechnical College Deputy Director, told the participants of the scientific research carried out by the students of her educational establishment, now included in the System of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (NRNU MEPhI). The students watched the regional Centre educational film, a presentation one Р from ТThe Atomic EncyclopaediaУ, and the atomists presented the event guests with their film called Т45 Years of Novovoronezh NPP Safe OperationУ for them to include it into ТThe History of Region Science and MechanicsУ media collection.

Eugeny GolubevХs present stirred much interest of the audience Р he passed over to the Centre a film about his grandfather. Lev I. Golubev was a participant of the first nuclear project. L. I. Golubev was awarded Lenin Prize for the development and implementation of the innovation that, excluding machine radical rebuilding, allowed increase of the removal of weapons-grade plutonium twice at Chelyabinsk Chemical Plant that contributed much to the improvement of the USSR defensive capacity. For a long time Lev I. Golubev headed Novovoronezh NPP scientific branch as Chief Engineer Deputy.

At the end of the meeting all the participants received presents with the nuclear industry symbolics.
