Novovoronezh NPP: an exposition of military glory was opened in the nuclear plant museum

On January, 24 in Public Information Centre of Novovoronezh NPP a festive opening of military glory exposition in honor to the 68 th anniversary of Voronezh liberation from Nazi invaders took place, facilities and premises were provided by the nuclear plant management.  

About 200 show pieces found by NVNPP search party ТPeresvetУ in battle places, are exhibited in the hall of 60 square meters. These are personal items of soldiers and officers of the Red Army and German Wehrmacht, arms, documents, and pictures.

The former soldiers of rifle division 141 that held the defense in the area of current Voronezh, searchers, the NPP workers and many citizens took part in the ceremony. NVNPP Deputy HR Head Anatoly Levadny asked the youngest participant of the ceremony, Nastenka, whose grand-grandfather, Vladimir Y. Kolupanov, died the years of war, and Ludmila A. Prikhozhenko, a participant of the battles for the city liberation, to cut the red band and open the exhibition,.

In August of the previous year a mobile thematic exhibition named ТImmortality in the Memory of our HeartsУ devoted to the 65 th anniversary of the Victory in The Great Patriotic War and to the 65 th anniversary of nuclear industry was opened in Public Information Centre of NVNPP. The exposition was attended by hundreds of Novovoronezh citizens, including veterans, the nuclear power employees, schoolchildren and small children from the city kindergartens.

Voronezh kept the heroic defense during 212 days and nights. Voronezh region gave the front about 600,000 its sons and daughters. 300,000 of them were awarded military decorations, 365 became Heroes of the Soviet Union, and 79 - fullgentlemen of the Order of the Soldiers of Fame. 115 Soviet soldiers are buried in the region territory.
