Participants discussed the license substantiation materials (LSM) on operating of the Kalininskaya NPP power unit ?1 at capacity 104% of the nominal. The organizers of the "round table" included local authorities Udomlia district. The event was the next key step to educate the public about the implementation of sectoral programs on the block.

The Chairman of the subcommittee on the legislative provision uses of atomic energy committee of the State Duma Committee on Energy Vladimir Potsyapun said: "Increasing the capacity of power units at the nuclear power plants is a worldwide practice. The public debates were attended by over 200 people, including representatives of scientific, environmental and social organizations, supervisory and regulatory bodies, health care, education, regional media, residents of the city and the region.

According to the regulations, all participants could ask experts their questions, which mainly affected the various aspects of safe operation, modernization and environmental activities of the Kalininskaya NPP. All the questions were given satisfactory answers.

Substantiation materials of the license will be available to the public within a month. At the end of 10 days after the "round table" on its results the protocol will be drawn up. It will be available to public from 27 to 31 October 2014 at Udomlya str. Popova, d. 25, Public Information Center. All visitors can submit their comments and suggestions in the report.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
