A meeting on Rosatom production system introduction has been held at Smolensk NPP

From February 8 to 10, 2011 a meeting on introduction of Rosatom production system (RPS) at the enterprise in the field of performing repairs and industrial inventory was organized at Smolensk NPP.

Heads and specialists of the nuclear plant on the RPS trend and Toyota representatives took part in it.

The meeting program included familiarization with the working process on pilot sites: on the change of fuel channels, the turbine equipment repair, inventory organization. 

Having got acquainted with the system of Smolensk NPP production, the experts marked positive results in the realization of Rosatom production system and proposed a number of recommendations for the improvements of the work in this direction as well.

As Kadzukhide Suetsugu, Toyota company expert, noted, Smolensk NPP specialists actively and effectively collaborated with the representatives of RPS OJSC of Rosesnergoatom Concern in all the branches, and the ceaseless work on perfection was carried out at the plant.

ТRPS introduction provides real results in work quality improvement and repair period reduction, and, which is of the greatest importance, we reach it without extra material lossesУ, - Andrey Petrov, Smolensk NPP director, said at the summarizing assembly.

Rosatom production system is developed taking into account the widely-known experience of the Japanese company Toyota Production System and is based on the system of Kaizen (ceaseless perfection). The system is aimed at the production efficiency improvement.

Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Every year SNPP supplies to the country electric power system at the average about 20 bln kilowatt-hours of electric power equal to almost 13% of power generated in Rosenergoatom Concern and to more than 80% of that generated by the power plants of Smolensk region.
