On August 19 on the stage of the Theatre and Concert Hall of the Public Information Centre of Kalinin nuclear power plant, there passed a performance in the production of Tilsit-Theatre from Sovetsk (Kaliningrad region) named “The French Garnish”. The event has become a continuation of a series of festive events timed to the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC.

On Tuesday, 21 August, Beloyarsk NPP will conduct a scheduled emergency response exercises with online participation (through videoconference channels) of representatives of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, JSC VNIIAES, Technical Support Centre, Emergency Response Centre of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, OPAS team (emergency assistance to nuclear power plants) and fire protection service.

On August 16, 2012 Kursk NPP hosted a meeting of the task group of Rosenergoatom Concern to prepare a complex emergency response exercise (KPU-2012).

Meeting of Operation Headquarters at Novovoronezh II
An installation of the basic engineering equipment of NPP’s containment area of Unit 1 has begun at Novovoronezh II. Prior to this event, a polar crane has been started in the containment area. Another important event associated with Unit 1 will take place in August: builders complete the construction of the cooling tower, the planned height of which amounts to 171 m.

On August 14-15, 2012 General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, Evgeniy Romanov, visited Balakovo nuclear power plant (Balakovo city, the Saratov region). It was the first visit of Yevgeniy Romanov to Balakovo NPP.

Kalinin NPP Admits 17 Young Professionals
17 graduates of higher educational institutions have been recruited as a part of the staff of Kalinin nuclear power plant. The traditional contest on recruitment of young professionals took place on August 14. An interview with graduates of specialized institutions was held by the committee led by Director of Kalinin NPP, Mikhail Kanyshev.

Kursk NPP: Premiere of Musical in Kurchatov as Part of ТNuclear Kids-2012У Project of State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom
From August 9 to 11, 2012 Kursk NPP hosted a creative team of 105 participants of the international children’s project organized by the State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom, “Nuclear Kids-2012”. Among them were 77 children from Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, RSA, Turkey, Korea and India.

Installation of Traveling Polar Crane at Unit 3 of Rostov NPP
At the Unit 3 under construction, there was maintained an operation on lifting and installation of two travelers of the polar crane of the reactor compartment to their proper location.
