The revenue of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company in 2018 году has cut a record and increased by 8% compared to last year

In 2018, the revenue of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company broke a record by getting to the point of 385.8 billion rubles, which is 8% higher than the one in 2017.

Several factors have contributed in it. In particular, the capacity delivery for the Rostov NPP’s 4th power block started last year 2 months ahead of schedule.

Besides, in 2018, two new power blocks were launched – the power block No. 1 of the Leningrad NPP-2 with the innovative VVER-1200 reactor and the power block No. 4 of the Rostov NPP.

These power blocks have delivered 8.9 billion kilowatt-hours of cost-effective electric power, which resulted in a decrease in electric power market prices and, hence, in a reduction of the cost burden for the consumers by around 16 billion rubles (taking into consideration the ahead-of-schedule capacity delivery of the Rostov NPP’s 4th power block).

It is important to remind that, in 2018, the Russian nuclear power plants (the affiliate companies of Rosenergoatom) have topped a record in the electric power output – 204.3 billion kilowatt-hours, which is 0.7% higher than in 2017.

As of now, the share of the nuclear power generation in the total power balance is around 19% of the total electric power output in the country. That said, each fifth light bulb in the Russian generation uses the energy produced by a nuclear power plant.

Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company (www.rosenergoatom.ru) is a leading enterprise of the largest ‘Electric Power’ division at the Rosatom State Corporation. Rosenergoatom is the biggest power generation company in Russia and is the 2nd biggest one in the world in terms of the scope of the nuclear power generation capacity. It encompasses all 10 Russian nuclear power plants as its affiliates along with the businesses servicing the needs of the generation company. The 10 Russian NPPs operate 35 power blocks in total with their joint installed capacity being 29 GW.
